The NSW office of the National Archives of Australia is seeking an experienced candidate for the role of State Manager, Public Engagement. This role leads a team engaged in the delivery of onsite, offsite and online services to the Australian public, oversees the delivery of strategic projects and services and contributes to the leadership of the NSW office. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated person who will build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders to promote the role and objectives of National Archives. The Collection Management Branch is responsible for transferring, storing, preserving and digitising National Archives' collection so it remains accessible for future generations. The Branch develops policies and systems as well as provides services, undertakes research, and implements projects to ensure the care, management and accessibility of archival records. The Branch is also responsible for identifying information management requirements for Australian Government agencies to ensure Australian Government information assets (records, information and data) are created, collected and managed effectively. National Network Coordination is responsible for the strategic and operational implementation of National Archives' physical presence and statutory functions across a network of state and territory offices in Australia. This includes collection management, archival services, access, public engagement, digitisation and relevant state and territory stakeholder management responsibilities. The key duties of the position include Under broad direction the main duties of the role are to: Lead and manage a team engaged in the delivery of onsite, offsite and online services to the public to achieve organisational objectives in accordance with the National Archives' strategic directions, business plans and resource allocations with a focus on innovation, business improvement and service delivery. Oversee the successful management and delivery of strategic projects and services with both internal and external stakeholders, within agreed time frames. Initiate, build and maintain effective relationships, liaising with both internal and external stakeholders, to promote the role, objectives, and programs of National Archives. Work in partnership with State Manager, Collection, NSW to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of National Archives' services and programs by the NSW state office. Develop and implement work plans that provide strategic directions for the work area. Coordinate the delivery of a research centre and public access facility in line with published standards of service. Maintain accountability and responsibility for the management and allocation of resources and delegations within the broader financial and regulatory frameworks of the National Archives. Apply the principles of APS Values, Code of Conduct, workplace diversity principles, work health and safety and participative management within a work and team environment. Promote and apply the National Archives' Vision, Mission and Commitments as expressed in Strategy 2025-2030: Evolving National Archives and Our Values. Tertiary qualifications, and/or demonstrated work experience, in archives or information management, or a related field is highly desirable.
