Our client is a highly creative events agency working across culture, entertainment, premium brands and large-scale live experiences. They bring a wide variety of creative projects to life, from intimate VIP experiences & brand activations, to bespoke installations and theatrical event environments. We are seeking an experienced, solutions-focused and commercially savvy Studio Operations & Resourcing Manager to act as the 2IC to the Head of Studio, leading workflow, talent resourcing and operational efficiency across a busy and growing live event agency. The role: The Studio Manager plays a critical role in ensuring the agency runs efficiently, intelligently and with the right talent at the right time. You will oversee workflow, project resourcing, scheduling and freelance management across creative, production and operational functions. This is a highly strategic, proactive and people-forward position—ideal for a former Executive Producer ready to step away from hands-on delivery and into a high-level operational leadership role. Using a flexible resourcing model, you will scale project teams up and down based on demand. Your ability to identify bottlenecks early—paired with strong commercial judgement, planning and communication—will ensure the studio and team remain streamlined, productive and well-supported. Lead resourcing and scheduling across all creative, production and operational teams. Maintain and expand a strong black book of top freelance talent across creative, production and producing disciplines. Match talent to jobs based on experience, availability, budget and project fit. Proactively identify workflow gaps, pressure points and bottlenecks, providing solutions and resourcing options. Support the Head of Studio with budget oversight, talent forecasting and resourcing models. Manage timesheet compliance, utilisation tracking and reconciliation support. Build relationships with returning and newly arrived freelance talent in Australia, representing the agency as the primary point of contact. Champion internal scheduling, resourcing systems and operational processes. Occasionally work onsite to support key project resourcing or workflow needs. Candidate profile: You may be a highly experienced Senior Producer or former Executive Producer looking to move into a strategic, studio-level role OR you may have already worked in a similar Traffic Manager role in an event agency or creative studio Deep and current network of freelance talent across creative, production and events. Strong understanding of event production workflows and creative studio operations. Confident identifying bottlenecks and providing proactive solutions. Commercially minded with strong understanding of rates, budgets and negotiation. Excellent communicator with strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills. Highly organised, calm under pressure and able to manage competing priorities. Passionate about supporting creative work and building high-performing teams.
