Data & Analytics Lead Melbourne | Hybrid Are you a hands-on data leader who loves designing robust data platforms and building high-value analytics that drive real business decisions? Our client is seeking a Data & Analytics Lead to own the end-to-end design, build and optimisation of their enterprise data environment. In this pivotal role, you’ll transform data from NetSuite and other core systems into trusted insights, lead the development of a modern cloud-based data warehouse, uplift reporting across the organisation, and champion data-driven decision-making. This is a highly autonomous, impact-heavy role that blends strategy, architecture, engineering, analytics, and stakeholder engagement. The Opportunity As the Data & Analytics Lead , you will: Design and implement a scalable cloud-based data warehouse and modern data platform. Integrate data from systems such as NetSuite, Arena PLM, Phocas, and future platforms. Build and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines, ensuring trusted, timely datasets. Develop dimensional/star-schema models and high-quality SQL transformation logic. Deliver Power BI and Phocas reporting across Finance, Operations, Sales, and Supply Chain. Create and govern semantic models and shared datasets for consistent KPIs and metrics. Lead data quality improvements and collaborate with system owners to resolve root-cause issues. Partner with senior stakeholders to translate business problems into clear insights. Coach business users to safely adopt curated datasets and self-service analytics. Develop a 1–2 year data and reporting roadmap, driving continuous improvement and modernisation. About You You’ll thrive in this role if you are a proactive, pragmatic data specialist with a passion for building reliable, scalable analytical foundations. You bring: Experience & Technical Expertise 10 years in data engineering, BI, analytics, or similar roles. Proven experience designing and owning cloud-based data warehouses. Strong SQL and hands-on experience with tools such as Azure, Snowflake, Redshift, Fabric, dbt, Matillion, Data Factory, or similar. Power BI expertise (DAX, data modelling, RLS, optimisation). Background working with ERP or transactional systems (NetSuite highly advantageous). Data modelling capability (dimensional/star schema). Scripting experience (Python desirable). Familiarity with Phocas or readiness to learn quickly. Business Partnership & Delivery Strong ability to run requirements workshops and influence stakeholders—including senior leaders. Experience simplifying reporting environments and resolving conflicting data. Ability to prioritise effectively and deliver high-quality outcomes under constraints. Comfortable working in evolving environments where not everything is predefined. Mindset Hands-on, roll-your-sleeves-up approach. Ownership mentality—accountable for outcomes, not just tasks. Curious, practical, and iterative. Comfortable being the primary data point of contact in a mid-sized organisation. Qualifications Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data/Analytics, Engineering, or equivalent experience. Certifications in Azure, AWS, Snowflake, or Power BI are advantageous. Experience in manufacturing, supply chain, or distribution is highly regarded.
