Position Overview The Driver / Operator position is essential for the effective execution of construction and maintenance projects. You will operate heavy vehicles and earthmoving equipment while performing various labouring duties as required. This role is under the guidance of Construction and Maintenance Forepersons and the Plant Allocator, ensuring that all tasks are completed safely and efficiently. Key responsibilities include conducting pre-start safety checks, reporting equipment issues, and adhering to legal and safety regulations. You will also be required to assist with loading trucks and maintain equipment cleanliness and security. Ideal Candidate Profile We are looking for a proactive individual who is willing to learn and adapt to new challenges. The ideal candidate will possess the following: Essential: Class MR Licence and Construction induction card (white card) Essential: Load shifting Plant Operator competency Desirable: Experience operating a Grader and Class HR Licence Essential: Previous experience as a plant operator and truck driver Desirable: Familiarity with Council’s vehicle accident procedures and experience in manual tasks within the construction industry This role requires strong communication skills, teamwork, and a commitment to upholding safety standards.
