Your Role as a Mechanic As our new Mechanic, you’ll take on hands-on maintenance, inspections, and servicing of our modern plant and fleet. Your expertise will help keep our vehicles safe to support Council’s operational requirements. Key responsibilities include: Performing high-quality, cost-effective mechanical maintenance across a variety of plant and fleet assets. Diagnosing and repairing complex vehicle systems to manufacturer standards. Maintaining accurate electronic service records and safety documentation. Mentoring apprentices and supporting new team members in their development. Collaborating with colleagues to achieve operational goals and boost team productivity. Who We’re Looking For We’re seeking a skilled, motivated Mechanic who thrives in a team environment and takes pride in delivering exceptional service. Essential: Minimum12 months post-trade qualified Certificate III in Automotive Engineering (Heavy Vehicle or Heavy Mobile Plant) MVRIA Mechanic’s Licence Class C Driver’s Licence Class HR Driver’s Licence and other relevant qualifications would be desirable Strong diagnostic abilities with hydraulic and electrical systems Excellent communication skills and a proactive, safety-first mindset Your ability to work collaboratively and communicate effectively will be key to your success. Monday – Thursday 1:00 pm – 10:20 pm. First Friday 12: 00 pm – 4:00 pm. Second Friday RDO scheduled.
