About the Opportunity As the Senior HSE Advisor for Austal Defence Australia (ADA) you’ll be responsible for carrying out a key role in the implementation and governance of management system requirements for key business activities. The Senior HSE Advisor reporting directly to the HSE Manager - ADA will provide a resource in Austal Defence Australia with sound and accurate management system knowledge and information to advise on and support the development, implementation and improvement of the ADA Program. Alongside this, the Senior HSE Advisor will be responsible for business reporting activities, ensuring system control of data and accuracy of report disclosures, and assurance activities to ensure compliance with HSE and contractual requirements. What’s Involved Provide a key HSE resource to Austal Defence Australia (ADA). Lead and Coordinate HS&E Reporting. Undertake day-to-day HSE activities, supporting the implementation of HSE Objectives. Leadership and facilitation of a Continuous Improvement of Health, Safety and Environment culture. Conduct assurance activities on both ADA and our suppliers to verify health, safety and environmental requirements are being maintained. Support stakeholders in key decision-making activities and provide guidance in HSE matters. Communicating and coordinating with internal and external stakeholders at all levels of the business. You’ll Need Essential Tertiary or equivalent qualification in WHS and Environmental Management Minimum 5 years’ role as HSE Advisor or equivalent in high-risk environments Minimum 5 years’ experience leading high severity investigations. Minimum 5 years’ experience conducting internal management system audits. Minimum 5 years’ experience developing WHS and Environmental Management Plans. Experience in use of data collection, analysis and reporting programs. Strong report writing skills. Strong interpersonal, communication, influence, and negotiation skills. Experience in coaching and mentoring. In-depth knowledge of the relevant legislation, applicable standards and best practice HSE approaches. Desirable Tertiary qualification in Management/Leadership.
