The Opportunity: Contract Manager - Upstream We are seeking an experienced and commercially astute Contract Commercial Manager (Upstream) to join our dynamic commercial team on the SSTOM Project. This is a pivotal role managing upstream (client-side) contractual obligations and risks, ensuring alignment with PPP frameworks and contractual KPIs. You will oversee the end-to-end management of upstream contracts, lead commercial discussions with government partners, and ensure all deliverables align with complex contractual requirements. PPP project experience is essential, as is the ability to work in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment. Oversee compliance with key contract milestones , KPIs, and delivery requirements as per the Contract Management Plan. Identify and manage contractual risks, disputes, and claims in collaboration with the legal and project delivery teams. Lead contract performance reviews and implement corrective action plans when required. Provide expert commercial and contractual advice to project leaders, technical teams, and external stakeholders. Build and maintain strong working relationships with public sector partners and internal delivery teams to ensure contractual alignment. Support project reporting and forecasting in coordination with the broader commercial and finance functions. Promote and uphold rail safety and environmental compliance in line with project governance and safety frameworks. What We’re Looking For: Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Law, Commerce or a related technical field (postgraduate qualifications in commercial or legal disciplines desirable). 5–8 years’ experience in contract or commercial roles on large-scale infrastructure projects , preferably rail or transport. Demonstrated expertise in managing upstream contracts within a PPP environment – PPP experience is essential. Strong analytical and negotiation skills with the ability to resolve complex commercial issues. Proven experience working in a project-driven, multi-stakeholder environment. High level of commercial acumen with excellent interpersonal and stakeholder engagement skills. Working knowledge of MS Office Suite and document management systems. Why Join Us?
