Where you'll be working You will be working across our dynamic Emergency Medicine Network, which include our key sites: John Hunter Hospital, The Maitland Hospital, Calvary Mater Newcastle, Belmont District Hospital, Tamworth Rural Referral Hospital, and Port Macquarie Base Hospital. These sites provide an exceptional mix of metropolitan and rural experiences, offering broad exposure to Emergency Medicine and a variety of specialities. Both Unaccredited and ACEM Trainees benefit from diverse clinical environments designed to support professional growth and development. What You'll Be Doing As an Unaccredited Trainee in Emergency Medicine, your primary role is to deliver high-quality medical care to undifferentiated patients presenting to the Emergency Department, under appropriate supervision. Our Emergency Medicine Network is fully accredited by the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM) and meets all training requirements. We are proud to support our trainees with outstanding education, exam preparation, and clinical experience. Our current exam success rates reflect the strength of our program. We are proud to report outstanding recent success rates in the AMC Clinical (Part 2) Examination. Trainees Have Access To Robust weekly education sessions. A highly regarded Simulation Centre with innovative training sessions led by dedicated FACEMs Opportunities to complete the Emergency Medicine Certificate (6 months), Diploma (12 months), or the Advanced Diploma (18 months). Our district’s Hospital Skills Program and Work-Based Assessment Program, designed to support professional development at every level As part of your clinical role, you'll gain experience in: Communicating assessment and management plans with patients, families, and the broader healthcare team Coordinating diagnostic investigations and specialist consultations Managing the discharge process, including liaising with local GPs and community care providers to ensure safe, effective post-discharge care This position also meets the ED placement requirement for selection into the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine (ACEM) training program and the Training Stage 1 requirements of the ACEM training program.
