About the work unit / facility Older Persons Mental Health Service (OPMHS) is a community-based consultation and liaison service providing assessment and treatment for older adults with mental health conditions. The team supports GPs and aged care providers, specialising in dementia care and age-related neurodegenerative disorders. Competitive salary and benefits Salary between $39.86 - $58.59 per hour (HP3). 4 to 6 weeks p.a. recreational leave with 14-17.5% loading. Generous employer contribution to superannuation of 12.75%. About your opportunity As an Occupational Therapist within OPMHS, you will provide short-term case management, assessment, and intervention for older persons with mental health disorders. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, deliver psycho-geriatric consultancy, and contribute to service improvement initiatives. Requirements Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy and registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia. While not mandatory, eligibility for appointment as an Authorised Mental Health Practitioner under the Mental Health Act 2016 would be well regarded. Ongoing professional development relevant to the delivery of specialist Mental Health Services to maintain appropriate registration and/or association requirements is a requirement of all staff within the MHSG. All employees of the Mental Health Service Group may be required to work in other areas of the Service. Evidence of vaccination against VPDs as per Queensland Health policy. Current Class C driver's licence. Ability to travel across service sites within the Townsville HHS region. * A probationary period may apply.
