The Role An opportunity has become available for a Senior Peer Coordinator - Lived Experience (Secure Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 13 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia. You will Lead and manage a lived experience team Articulate consumer/carer needs to service managers and clinical providers Maintain and grow partnerships with a range of stakeholders Develop and deliver recovery-oriented training and education About you To be successful in this position you will require: Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991, there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be a person with lived experience of mental illness, service use and recovery (identifies as a consumer or carer or both) While not mandatory, a Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work, Certificate IV in Mental Health and similar qualifications or higher would be well regarded Driver Licence Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost) Benefits Flexible work options Career Development Salary Packaging Modern Facilities Diverse Work Culture Research Opportunities 12.75% super 17.5% leave loading Salary Permanent full time Base salary ranging from $105 568 - $114 861 per annum About Us The new Secure Mental Health Rehabilitation Unit (SMHRU) on the Gold Coast is a 40-bedded world class, compassionate, person centered facility that fosters recovery of consumers, families and carers for those consumers with complex mental health and addiction issues.
