What you'll do Strategically and operationally develop and manage clinical engineering education, training and Standards of Practice within Biomedical Technology Services, Queensland Health to support Biomedical Engineers in clinical engineering roles. Facilitate training pathways for Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) registration with the Board of Professional Engineers of Queensland (BPEQ) aligned with Engineers Australia competency standards for Clinical Engineering. About you We are searching for someone who has: At least a recognised four-year Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent) qualification in Engineering as recognised by Engineers Australia. Applicants with overseas qualifications are required to be assessed by Engineers Australia at an Occupational Classification of Professional Engineer. Registration as a Registered Professional Engineer Queensland (RPEQ) is mandatory for permanent appointment to the position. Unregistered applicants are encouraged to apply for the position provided they are eligible for registration in accordance with Professional Engineers Act 2002. If the preferred candidate is not a current RPEQ, a 12-month temporary appointment to the position may be offered, to be supervised by an existing Biomedical Technology Services RPEQ. The temporary employee will be required to provide evidence of an application for registration within 6 months of commencement and attained RPEQ status within 12 months of commencement. If these requirements are not met, temporary employment will cease. Permanent appointment will be approved as soon as evidence of attainment of RPEQ status is provided. Expert level knowledge, expertise and skills in the contemporary clinical practice standards of biomedical engineering in a clinical setting. Demonstrated ability to work independently to develop and deliver clinical engineering education material, with a commitment to applying evidence-based principles in alignment with Engineers Australia competency standards. Very high-level oral, written and interpersonal communications skills, including the ability to convey authoritative clinical advice regarding professional standards and clinical service development. Active leadership in service provision and the development of high-level clinical engineering service improvement initiatives. Why work with us?
