We are an ocean-facing café located on Ocean Street, Narrabeen, with a sophisticated urban look serving Toby Estate coffee, breakfast, and lunch. Responsibilities : Prepare, season, and cook complete dishes and meals, including breakfast and lunch offerings, ensuring high-quality standards in presentation and taste. Plan, develop, and refine menus in collaboration with management, including seasonal and special event menus, to align with café concept and customer preferences. Supervise, train, and manage kitchen staff, including scheduling shifts, monitoring performance, and ensuring effective teamwork. Maintain quality control of ingredients and finished dishes, ensuring compliance with hygiene, food safety, and health regulations. Order, monitor, and maintain adequate stock levels of food and kitchen supplies, controlling costs and minimizing waste. Ensure coordination between front-of-house and back-of-house operations to facilitate smooth service delivery. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and safe working practices in the kitchen, adhering to occupational health and safety standards. Monitor food costs, implement budget controls, and optimize resource use to ensure efficient kitchen operations. Requirements: Minimum of 1 year full-time experience as a Chef or in a similar culinary role. Preferred, qualifications in Culinary Arts or Hospitality Management. Availability to work during opening hours, including weekends and holidays, with flexible shifts. Strong communication and leadership skills to manage kitchen staff effectively. Salary: The role offers a remuneration package ranging $70,000 - $80,000 per year plus superannuation for a 38-hour work week.
