JAE is searching for an Electrical Engineering Technician to join their team in Parkhurst, QLD. Electrical Engineering Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of specialized electrical and electronic components within hazardous area mining equipment; including record management and accurate documentation of equipment particulars, ensuring relevant Standards, Acts and Rules are met, within the expectations of the company and the direct supervisor. These tasks include : Assisting Engineers in design and layout of electrical installations and circuitry on, cabling systems and electrical control systems. Assembling, installing, testing, calibrating, modifying and repairing electrical components to conform with regulations and safety requirements. General electrical workshop duties as directed by the supervisor. Complete statutory inspections and documentation. Accurately record and report statutory requirements. Compile test information and systematically verify commissioning points and documents. Sound understanding of flameproof protection level requirements and willing to obtain AS60079 EEHA and AS3800 Overhaul and Repair qualifications (or equivalent JA approved course/s). Assist the electrical supervisor in the development of work procedures and processes. Understanding and commitment to workplace health & safety principals, policies, and procedures. Maintain workshop cleanliness and waste management requirements. Complete light vehicle and forklift maintenance checklists as required. Understanding/ willing to obtain AS3800 Overhaul and Repair qualifications. Complete relevant on the job training as required by the company. Adhere to company policies and procedures. Other duties as required from time to time, as directed by the supervisor. Good understanding and knowledge of relevant electrical standards AS/NZS3000, AS/NZS3800, AS/NZS2290. To be considered you will need a relevant trade certificate with two years minimum relevant employment experience or at least three years of relevant employment experience to substitute for the formal qualification. This is a full time position, an immediate start is available. A remuneration package of $80,000 - $90,000 per annum will be offered to the successful candidate.
