Description The Role: The Risk & Compliance Officer is responsible for promoting and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and internal policies to protect the School from legal, financial and operational risks. This role involves identifying, assessing, and monitoring risks across various functions, as well as implementing and maintaining compliance programs. The Risk & Compliance Officer collaborates with departments to establish best practices, conducts regular audits, and provides training to foster a culture of compliance. The Risk & Compliance Officer will promote and embed a robust risk management and safety culture across the School. This includes ensuring the effective identification, reporting, and compliance with internal policies and external legislation, guidelines, and relevant requirements. The Person: To be successful in this position, you will have: Tertiary qualifications in risk management, compliance or a related discipline or equivalent demonstrated experience in that field A risk and compliance leader with demonstrated experience leading and implementing a risk and compliance function Strong understanding of Child Safe Standards and associated legislative requirements Knowledge of the safety guidelines and compliance applicable to an education environment Proven ability to develop and maintain effective workplace relationships Strong project management skills, with the ability to implement and monitor policies and initiatives Strong verbal and written communication skills Exceptional attention to detail Background in a complex organisation Proven experience in promoting and delivering continuous improvement, reviewing policies, procedures and systems, based on best practice and innovation. Travel to other campuses is required A current drivers licence is a requirement of the role A valid Employee Working with Children Check is a requirement of employment for this position.
