About the Opportunity The Contracts Administrator is a position within the Austal Defence Australia (ADA) Commercial Team to provide commercial and contractual administration support to the team. This specific position will report to the Contract Manager and shall be responsible for providing commercial advice, administration, supporting contractual deliverables and ensuring that all contractual and commercial risks are understood, managed and mitigated where possible. What’s Involved Interpret, administer, and ensure compliance with contract documents and processes. Manage Contract Change Proposals (CCPs) and variations, including preparing documentation for review. Review subcontractor claims and draft contractual correspondence as directed by the Contracts Manager. Coordinate document submissions to the Commonwealth and monitor responses. Maintain accurate registers, reports, and claims within ADA systems. Represent ADA’s commercial interests in meetings and prepare agendas, minutes, and documentation when required. Ensure adherence to security protocols for handling confidential ADA and Commonwealth information. Collaborate with stakeholders to implement process improvements and support other ADA teams on commercial matters. You’ll Need 5 years experience in a similar role, preferably within the defence and or shipbuilding industry Commercial and contract document management, including experience on contract variations and claims Ability to prioritise, multitask and meet all deadlines Strong business acumen Bachelor degree or equivalent in Business, Commerce, Commercial Law or similar field Working knowledge and understanding of ASDEFCON suite of contracts Why Join Us?
