An opportunity has now become available to join our QLD Business Development team as a Business Development Associate, based in our Brisbane office in a permanent, fulltime position. This is an exciting role within a member-centric organisation with a reputation of excellence across the medical and legal sectors. Key responsibilities for the role include: Represent Avant at industry events, with emphasis on fostering strong relationships with key industry organisations and delegates in attendance, ensuring target market penetration and growth. Lead activation, support, and growth across QLD in strategically important categories of Medical Students, Early Career Doctors (ECD), and International Medical Graduates (IMG’s). Lead planning and delivery of QLD-based events, including, stakeholder liaison (venues, caterers, speakers, and internal teams), and on-the-day coordination as required. Support achievement of state sales growth targets by providing operational support to the QLD team, including stock management of event collateral and timely payment of invoices. Day-to-day operational management of key external relationships to ensure we leverage relevant events, communications and opportunities. Maintain strong relationships with key industry organisations to promote awareness of the Avant brand and retention of our members. Actively collaborate in a team environment aimed at encouraging superior skills and results. Deliver timely market and competitor insights to support strategic decision-making and build competitive advantage. To be successful in this opportunity you will have: Proven success in a Business Development, Account Management, or Events Co-ordination role, preferably in insurance, health care, pharmaceutical or public hospital sectors. Strong Business Development skills coupled with strong relationship management and presentation skills. Some financial acumen to work with invoices and track expenditure (maintain a basic budget and understand budget forecasting) for the QLD team. You will need to have an agile and flexible mind set in order to pivot between sales, events and relationship management in a complex market.
