SENIOR PROPERTY SERVICES OFFICER 6 MONTH CONTRACT - IMMEDIATE START EASTERN SUBURBS $50.49 per hour DUTIES: Act as the primary liaison for all community and commercial leaseholders Provide expert advice to tenants, residents, and landowners on lease-related matters. Prepare, negotiate, and implement lease agreements. Lead processes to secure new tenants through Expressions of Interest (EOI), Tender, or private treaty. Ensure accurate recovery of rent, utilities, and other payments, including rent reviews and outgoings. Design and implement improvements to lease management practices, including long-term renewal strategies, KPI frameworks, and formalising legacy arrangements. Enhance property maintenance and upkeep standards to meet community expectations and support investment attraction. Identify and recommend business performance improvements to management. Deliver property projects and outcomes to a high professional standard, ensuring value for money and agreed financial results are achieved. Monitor and report on the financial performance of the property portfolio, continually seeking opportunities for improvement. Prepare and present high-quality reports, memos, and briefings to project control groups, executive management. Drive continuous improvement in reporting systems to strengthen compliance, transparency, and performance oversight. Provide leadership, motivation, and guidance to property staff and external service providers on complex issues and policy application. Mentor and develop team capability, fostering a professional, multi-skilled, high-performing property services function. Directly manage one staff member, ensuring effective workload distribution and performance outcomes. Build positive interdepartmental relationships to ensure integrated service delivery. Establish and maintain strong working relationships with colleagues, tenants, and stakeholders. Support the Program Manager as required in achieving strategic property objectives. REQUIREMENTS: Experience fostering and maintaining relationships and networks with both internal and external stakeholders with excellent standards of customer service. Demonstrated strong time management and communication skills with the ability to work both individually and within a team environment. An understanding of the broad functions of Local Government. Ability to effectively communicate and present information, both verbally and in writing, via all standard forms of business communication (including emails, memos, letters, reports, policies, procedures, spreadsheets). Experience in the preparation, negotiation and administration of leases/licenses with 5 years or more similar experience, preferably within Local Government (desirable). Demonstrated understanding of property management services with an understanding of building asset management principles as it relates to Landlord and Tenant relationships (desirable) Property management qualification (desirable) Must possess a 'C' Class drivers licence.
