Job Description:
The Maintenance Mechanic is responsible for the efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and operate building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection.
- Perform maintenance and repairs on mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Respond promptly to tenant service requests and building issues, ensuring timely resolution.
- Maintain records of maintenance activities, inspections, and repairs.
- Respond promptly to building emergencies, including but not limited to power outages, HVAC failures, plumbing leaks, and other facility-related issues, ensuring swift resolution to minimize disruptions and maintain operational safety.
- Perform light carpentry tasks and painting as required.
- Must be available to work after hours and overtime as needed to ensure continuous facility operations.
- Participate in emergency preparedness drills and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with fire safety systems, including alarm testing and emergency power systems, etc.
- Work closely with the facilities team, property management, and contractors.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in HVAC, mechanical, or electrical systems preferred.
- Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems required.
- 3+ years of experience in facility maintenance required.
- The ability to fit solder and braze pipe up to 2 inches preferred.
- Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) and energy management controls preferred.
- Refrigeration License preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and schematics required.
- Applicable vocational training certifications preferred.
- Approved fire safety course certificate preferred.
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Good communication and customer service abilities.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Work Environment:
- Subject to hazards including but not limited to chemicals, noisy environments, varying temperatures.
- May be required to use step stools, ladders, and mobile work platforms in the performance of their duties.
