Salaried Role $90-95k plus Super About the Role SeaLink WA is searching for experienced Shore Based Marine Maintenance Technicians with a broad skill-base, who can positively contribute to the culture of the team as well as keeping the fleet in a safe, compliant, and pristine condition. We are looking for someone with a broad skill base across the marine maintenance field. It requires someone who can be flexible with hours and who loves to be part of a dynamic team often under pressure. You will report to the WA Maintenance Manager and will be part of the shore-based maintenance team working in both our Fremantle shipyard and Perth city jetty's. The maintenance part of the job is exactly what it sounds like. You will conduct routine planned maintenance, attend breakdown maintenance, assist contractors in higher level maintenance, support on-board engineers, skippers and crew as required, and attend to an array of ad-hoc duties, both on our vessels and around the jetties/offices & workshops. The role forms an integral part of a professional maritime support team The systems and machinery you will gain exposure to include: 10 vessels ranging from 25-35m Heavy diesel machinery – 4, 6, & 12 cylinder high speed Diesel engines (Scania, Perkins, CAT, MAN, and Cummins) Auxiliary systems (Air-conditioning, Refrigeration, Electrical, Pumps, Hydraulics) Electrical and instrumentation systems Dry dock works Hull structures and fittings Ad-Hoc general handyman tasks as required on day-to-day basis You will be required to: Work ashore as part of the Wharf based engineering maintenance team Service & general repairs on a wide range of vessels Diagnostic problem solving & rectification Continue to be up to date with current technology Provide great service to your fellow employees Flexible hours at short notice, as required Work on a shift work roster including weekends and Public Holidays About You We will need you to have the following skills and experience: Previous experience in marine, mechanical, or facilities maintenance preferred. Experienced in servicing, periodical inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs to commercial vessels Practical skills with hand tools and basic maintenance equipment. A strong work ethic, attention to detail, and commitment to safety. Ability to work independently and as part of a small team. Current driver’s license. Marine or trade qualifications, forklift & EWP licenses are an advantage. Sound knowledge of WH&S obligations relevant to the marine/transport industry Computer knowledge, proficiency with Microsoft office & MEX fleet management software or similar CMMS an advantage If this sounds like your dream job, we encourage you to apply.
