ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY We are seeking an experienced AWS DevOps / Cloud Engineer to join a Federal Government program through Indigeco. You can work from anywhere in Australia , supporting the delivery of secure, automated AWS infrastructure across a multi-account environment aligned to ISM PROTECTED standards. This role suits someone who is confident with AWS networking, automation, IAM, and cloud governance, and wants to grow their footprint in the public sector. The role offers a competitive rate of up to $110 per hour super , depending on experience. ABOUT THE COMPANY (Client of Indigeco – End Client: Federal Government) You will be engaged by Indigeco , supporting a large Federal Government agency undergoing a strategic cloud and security uplift. The program focuses on building secure, scalable AWS environments, strengthening automation, and improving cloud governance across multiple accounts. You will work alongside experienced cloud, security, and platform teams delivering high-impact national initiatives. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Design and implement secure AWS VPC architectures , including subnets, routing, NACLs, security groups, and VPC endpoints. Build and maintain Azure DevOps pipelines for AWS infrastructure provisioning using Terraform , AWS CDK , or OpenTofu . Develop and enforce IAM roles, policies, and Service Control Policies (SCPs) across multi-account AWS environments. Automate deployment of core AWS security and monitoring services such as CloudTrail , VPC Flow Logs , CloudWatch , and GuardDuty . Support LiteLLM gateway deployment , governance tagging, and cost-tracking frameworks. Implement secure connectivity patterns, including PrivateLink , VPC Peering , and inter-account access models. Assist onboarding automation using AWS Service Catalog , Control Tower , and Landing Zone tooling. Ensure alignment with Australian Government cloud security standards , including ISM PROTECTED. Work collaboratively with security, platform, and architecture teams to deliver secure, scalable AWS capabilities.
