About the role: The Victoria Police Custodial Health Service provides health care to people in police custody across Victoria and health advice to police officers and custody officers who have a person in their care or custody. Senior Medical Advisors perform a critical role within the Custodial Service, providing a daily medical service to detainees at the Melbourne Custody Centre and a visiting and remote medical service to other Victoria Police facilities. Working within a multidisciplinary team including Nurse Practitioners, nurses and pharmacists, Senior Medical Advisors provide leadership in patient care and management. Your duties will include: Providing medical care to persons in police custody Provide clinical leadership in a multidisciplinary team regarding patient management Contribute to quality improvement including regular review of policies and procedures and engagement within and external to Victoria Police As the successful applicant, you will have: Excellent clinical skills and experience relevant to primary care Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Full AHPRA registration A valid driver's licence Experience in the care of people with Alcohol and other dug problems, emergency medicine or primary health care Requirements and relevant information: One (1) x full time, ongoing position available. Full time and part time applications will be considered. Salary range is $270,000 to $280,000 p.a. super. This position is located at the Melbourne Custody Centre, 520 Lonsdale St, Melbourne.
