The Client Mr. Bulgogi Korean Restaurant located in Mawson Lakes in South Australia is a well-known restaurant specialising in authentic Korean cuisine. They are an established and popular restaurant in the area with a reputation for excellent food of high quality. They are now looking for a cook with experience in Korean cuisine to join their business. This is a full time role with an annual salary of $76,700 plus superannuation. Responsibilities Examine food to ensure quality and presentation Cooking variety of dishes from the menu and on pans with guidance of head chef Using different methods of cooking such as grilling, frying, steaming, boiling and roasting Prepare and cook complete meals or individual dishes and foods Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment maintain them in good working condition Reporting to management if any maintenance is required Maintain inventory and records of food, supplies and equipment Order raw materials to supplier as per business need Review menu with head chef and contribute to some seasonal changes to the menu Follow and maintain all OH&SC requirement for safe kitchen operations. Clean and maintain work area and kitchen equipment Setting up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies Assist with the ordering of supplies Cooking menu items in co-operation with the rest of the kitchen staff Assist in the development of the menu in consultation with the chef and the restaurant manager Supervising and training new staff as and when required Requirements To be successful in this role, you must have: Relevant qualifications in hospitality/cookery required At least 2 years of commercial cooking experience At least 2 years' experience of cooking on the grill At least 2 years' experience in preparing meals that cater to various dietary restrictions, such as gluten-free, vegan, or nut-free options At least 2 years' experience in preparing fermented Korean foods and maintaining proper fermentation environments At least 2 years' experience operating Korean kitchen equipment such as dolsot pots, deep fryer, soup burners, and hotplates. At least 2 years' experience with stock preparation and slow-simmering Korean broths. Knowledge and experience in modern and authentic Korean cuisine Must be experienced in working with chicken, beef, pork, seafood proteins Experience in adherence to recipe & portion control, as well as ordering and stock control Ability to follow instruction & take direction Excellent time management and attention to detail Knowledge of food safety and hygiene standards Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team Be available to work on weekends and public holidays to deal with many customers Available for split shifts and weekend/public holiday work typical of hospitality
