As a Senior Portfolio Analyst – Opportunistic, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the management of liquid alternative exposures across basis, risk premia, and risk recycling investments. You’ll work collaboratively with your team and stakeholders to execute investment strategies that align with our members’ best financial interests. You’ll be part of a team responsible for the strategic management of defensive and liquid assets, including fixed income, balance sheet, portfolio completion, and opportunistic domains. You’ll also contribute to our data and analytics framework, supporting investment insights and decision-making across ART portfolios. Day to day, you'll: Conduct complex research and analysis to support the formation and implementation of opportunistic strategies. Develop and maintain key models for portfolio research and monitoring, recommending improvements. Deliver performance updates and insights, and assist in preparing clear presentation materials for stakeholders. Support due diligence on external managers, including data collection, analysis, and documentation. Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders and foster collaboration across investment business units. Build external networks, research industry trends, and share insights with the team. Assist with governance and compliance obligations for the Opportunistic asset class. This role is a permanent opportunity. Location: Sydney or Brisbane. About you It goes without saying you'll be a great communicator with top notch interpersonal skills. We'll also expect you to pick up problems and come up with quick, creative ways to solve them. It's quite likely you tick some of the following boxes too: You have relevant tertiary qualifications in finance, investments, commerce, or economics. You bring experience in the industry or a relevant investment domain, and you’re knowledgeable about legislation, regulations, market trends, risk-reward optimisation, and emerging issues. You possess advanced research and analysis capabilities, and you’re able to work independently. You’re passionate and eager to learn about liquid alternative investments. You have a strong understanding of derivatives. You leverage your programming skills (Python, SQL, VBA) to enhance processes and improve investment models. Desirable: You understand valuation principles and practices, especially in cross-asset derivatives, you’re skilled in quantitative financial modelling and programming, and you think strategically and creatively.
