The Shelbourne Hotel, a Sydney icon located in the heart of the CBD, is seeking a talented and motivated Cook to join our busy kitchen team. Our venue is known for vibrant dining, modern pub fare, and high-energy events — making it a great opportunity for someone passionate about food and hospitality. Key Responsibilities Prepare and cook a wide range of menu items to venue standards Ensure food quality, consistency, and timely service during busy periods Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation guidelines Assist with stock control, rotation, and minimising wastage (FIFO) Maintain kitchen cleanliness and compliance with NSW Food Authority standards Support menu development and daily specials with the Head Chef if needed Adhere to all WHS and food safety regulations Work collaboratively with kitchen and front-of-house teams About You Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent) Previous experience as a Cook in a busy restaurant, hotel, or pub environment Strong knowledge of food hygiene and safety practices Reliable, well-organised, and able to work effectively under pressure Positive attitude and ability to work as part of a team Flexibility to work across days, nights, weekends, and public holidays What We Offer Competitive salary superannuation Supportive and professional kitchen team Opportunities for career growth within a respected hospitality group Staff discounts and a great working culture Visa sponsorship (Subclass 482) may be available for suitably qualified candidates Permanent full time role with a starting salary between $76K - $80K (plus super).
