Senior Data Engineer (Initial 12 month FTC - With a view to turn perm) Greenfield Microsoft Fabric Build. Reporting to CIO A leading organisation is standing up a brand new Data and Analytics function. This is a rare greenfield opportunity for a Data Engineer who wants to shape an entire ecosystem from day one. You will work directly with the CIO. You will own the design, build, and evolution of a modern Azure and Microsoft Fabric environment. The strategy is already mapped . Now they need someone with the technical strength and business mindset to bring it to life. This role suits someone who thrives in autonomy, sees the commercial value of data, and enjoys being the expert in the room. What you will be doing Build scalable data pipelines and models across Azure, Fabric and enterprise systems. Integrate core operational platforms. Salesforce, JD Edwards, SiteTracker and others. Shape the data architecture. Create models that support high-quality reporting and analytics. Automate workflows using Python, SQL and REST APIs. Lift data governance, quality and documentation as foundational pillars of the function. Partner with senior stakeholders and translate business needs into practical technical outcomes. Evaluate and introduce modern tooling to accelerate analytics maturity. Support early Power BI development. AI-Ready by Design The foundations you build must be future-proof. The business is already experimenting with Microsoft Copilot and has an AI specialist in-house . The long-term vision is for data engineering and applied AI to merge.
