12 month role with possible extension Brisbane CBD based Our Queensland Government client is seeking an experienced and collaborative Senior System Administrator (Unix). You will be a technical lead for the following system administrator activities: Manage a small team of system administrators when required (2IC function) Administration of Solaris Virtual Platform including (Logical Domains and Containers) and RedHat Linux (including Docker/Podman virtualisation) and RedHat Linux systems Monitoring of servers and services for proactive support Administration of Oracle, Ingres, and PostgreSQL Database platforms Administration of Middleware Tuxedo and Web Server environments Maintain currency in server infrastructure, operating systems, Database environments and relevant supported software. Administration of periodic disaster recovery testing Manage Hardware upgrades on server infrastructure. Manage software licencing renewals, hardware maintenance renewals including contract management. Producing and maintaining quality systems documentation, including reporting Communicate with clients giving advice on hosting solutions offered by Systems Hosting Provide timely and detailed oral/written advice as required on software, hardware, and security matters. Proactive Server monitoring Server build configuration Capacity Planning Configuration and administration of Puppet Enterprise and RedHat Satellite management platforms Responsibilities include: Technical administration of Solaris and RedHat Linux environments Technical administration of Oracle, Ingres, PostgreSQL, WebLogic database platforms Technical advice for supported clients. Regular reporting for software currency and availability information Perform actions as part of the rotating weekly duty roster, including being part of either morning duty or afternoon duty and on-call. Compliance to ITP change, configuration, incident, and problem management to ensure that deliverables are prioritised and completed within the specified timeframes. Compliance with ITP Technical Architecture, methodologies, and systems. Provide technical solutions including estimates to clients.
