The Opportunity: You will be based at an 80-bed aged care facility that has recently undergone major refurbishments in Berwick. You will carry out hands-on maintenance and coordination, and proactively take pride in the presentation of the facility. Your Key Responsibilities will include: Actively managing ongoing room refurbishments, general repairs, and site upkeep across the facility. Using the asset management system to log, triage, and action maintenance tasks. Assigning external contractors when specialist trades are required. Working proactively to identify issues before they become requests, ensuring a safe and supportive environment for residents and staff. Attending daily morning huddles with care teams to stay updated on resident needs, overnight issues and operational priorities. Managing the site induction of all subcontractors performing preventative or reactive maintenance. Raising and completing events in the asset management system for any maintenance issues as required. An attractive package of $36.00 to $40.00 per hour, plus superannuation, salary packaging , and an employee assistance programme, is on offer. You will be fully supported by the Village Manager and be a valuable team member of the Facilities team. Your Skills and Attributes: We are looking for an active handyperson/maintenance officer who is effective in prioritising work, offers warm and clear communication, and has good practical hands-on experience of basic maintenance tasks. You will have a background in building and facilities maintenance, ideally in the aged care, disability, hospitality or retirement services sector. Knowledge and experience in facilities services, including Fire, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, security and lighting. A proven record of time management skills, including the timely execution of work and consistency in adhering to all time-related deadlines and time frames. Computer literacy to use the property asset management system and Microsoft Office. You will need to complete a Police Check, a Working with Children's Check, and an NDIS screen at the final stages of the interview.
