With a booming, culturally rich and diverse community, and less than an hourâs drive from the CBD (still within the bounds of Myki and ride-sharing), Melbourneâs North is fast becoming the place to be.   Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Grade 2 Medical Scientist in Cytology to join the Anatomical Pathology team on a Fixed Term contract.   Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourneâs rapidly growing outer north.  Services are provided through our five main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.  About the Role:  T his position would suit a cytopathology scientist with experience in performing primary screening and will contribute to the high-quality work, accurate , and timely workload. Responsible for partaking in all aspects of cytopathology including, but not limited to, non-gynaecological cytology screening, issuing reports for pathologists, attending and performing ROSE at radiological guided FNA, EUS and EBUS procedures, and performing specimen processing, including specimen registration, slide preparation and staining.  To be successful in this role you will have:  A degree in Biological Science (Medical Science) or equivalent. Overseas qualifications must be Australian Institute of Medical Scientists (AIMS) assessed.  Specific post-graduate qualifications in cytopathology such as CTASC and/or CTIAC  Demonstrated experience in non-gynaecological primary screening  Previous work history in a diagnostic cytopathology laboratory.  Demonstrated experience in non-gynaecological specimen preparation Displays an innovative mindset and a can-do attitude.
