We have an 8-month Fixed Term Contract opportunity available in our Sustainability Team for a recent graduate, working two days a week. The Sustainability Assistant – Product is an amazing opportunity to play a critical support role in implementing sustainability strategies for fibre, materials, and product design across Country Road Group brands. This role offers hands-on experience in sustainable materials research, claims governance, data tracking, stakeholder coordination, and sustainability communications within the fashion retail sector. The graduate will gain practical experience in responsible materials programs, circular business models, certification schemes, regulatory compliance, and internal engagement while supporting the broader Good Business Journey (GBJ) initiatives. Key Responsibilities Research support on sustainable material alternatives, innovations, and technologies for apparel, accessories, and footwear along with monitoring industry, media & regulatory developments. Sustainability claims support monthly by confirming product level information as required and coordinating with traceability, design and product development teams Sustainable packaging support with researching and testing of packaging alternatives while monitoring regulatory & reporting obligations. Tracking and reporting on the impact of responsible materials usage and sustainable product strategies Provide admin support for brand-specific and group-wide projects relating to responsible materials, product sustainability, and circularity initiatives Assist with developing resources and materials for sustainable product education and training Support coordination with Marketing teams to integrate sustainable product messaging by gathering content and sustainability stories related to product initiatives. Partnership support for relationships with certification bodies and industry partners. Key Capabilities Recently completed undergraduate degree in Fashion (Sustainability/Enterprise), Fashion Design, Textile Design, Sustainability, or related field Exposure to sustainable materials, textile certifications, or circular design principles (through coursework, projects, or internships) Understanding of environmental and social issues in the fashion industry Experience with research, data collection, or project coordination (academic or professional) Why work for CRG?
