Our client, an automotive support service and engineering company based in Brisbane South, is seeking qualified Welders / Metal Fabricators to join their team. Work will be based both in the workshop and on field service assignments as required. Key Responsibilities: Perform structural and component fabrication for heavy automotive and transport equipment. Fabricate and repair trays, chassis components, toolboxes, trailers, and material handling systems for heavy vehicles and mobile equipment. Fit and install automotive accessories such as toolboxes, canopies, tow bars, racks, guards, and custom components. Interpret technical drawings and fabricate from engineered designs or physical samples. Carry out build-up and repair work using MIG, TIG, Sub Arc, and Hot Spray techniques. Operate standard workshop equipment including grinders, cutters (friction & gas), welders (GMAW, TIG, Stick), presses, and polishing tools. Conduct heat treatment and stress relieving processes as required. Ensure all tasks are carried out in line with safety, quality, and compliance standards. Maintain a high level of workmanship and attention to detail consistent with automotive and fabrication industry expectations. Collaborate with the fabrication and mechanical teams to maintain production efficiency. Communicate effectively with leading hands and workshop managers. Take ownership of workshop cleanliness, organisation, and housekeeping. Required Qualifications & Licenses: Trade Qualification in Fabrication (Boilermaker/Welder/Metal Fabricator). Construction White Card. High Risk Work Licence (e.g., Forklift, EWP, or similar). Working at Heights & Confined Space qualifications (advantageous). Experience within the automotive or heavy vehicle fabrication industry (minimum 1 year full-time). Mine site or field service induction tickets – desirable but not essential.
