The Opportunity We’re looking for Asphalt Operators with experience in road construction works or other civil construction backgrounds to join our friendly team – which also happens to be an Australian Employer of Choice that genuinely cares about our people! This role involves operating a range of asphalt equipment and machinery across WA such as pavers, rollers, skid steers and trucks, as well as assisting with asphalt laying and related project activities. You will contribute to keeping everyone safe in the workplace by following company WHS processes and assist with repair and maintenance activities to keep equipment in top condition. You’ll be a team player, working closely with Supervisors, Leading Hands and subcontractors to support Hiway in its commitment to delivering high-quality work and achieving strong customer satisfaction. Whilst not a FIFO role, this position will require travel away from home for periods of time on site. Key Skills and Experience Current HR, HC or MC driver’s licence (essential) Demonstrated experience working in the asphalt industry , including operating asphalt pavers, rollers, or skid steers Civil construction or earthmoving experience Construction White Card A positive attitude and commitment to safety Team player with a strong focus on quality Self-motivated and able to work unsupervised Desirable Current plant tickets (skid steer, loader, watercart, roller, sweeper, aggregate spreader) advantageous Spray seal or profiling experience Mechanical aptitude and/or experience assisting with maintenance If you’re looking for an exciting future with genuine opportunities for growth and development, don’t wait to apply for this role – we’ll be assessing applications as they are received.
