Do work that matters: Join CommBank's Group Environmental Strategy team as Senior Manager, Nature Strategy. This is a 13-month fixed term parental leave cover. You'll lead delivery of our Nature priorities across the bank-shaping the Group's approach to nature and guiding how we identify and manage nature related risks & opportunities. Your near-term focus will include a nature risk & opportunity assessment and setting FY27 priorities aligned to the Group Environmental Strategy. You'll partner closely with Net Zero and Climate Resilience teams, and teams across, translate complex insights into actionable executive recommendations, and help embed TNFD aligned practices across the business. We're seeking a strategist with strong communication and stakeholder management skills, familiarity with TNFD (or similar), and the ability to turn analysis into action. Your responsibilities: Deliver on the Nature workstream priorities and outcomes and maintain alignment with overall strategic priorities. Lead the delivery of a nature risk and opportunity assessment, drawing on leading science-based frameworks and initiatives such as TNFD, SBTN, WEF, UNEP-FI to ensure assessments are based on best available data and guidance. Maintain strong collaboration with key stakeholders across the Group to develop decision-useful metrics and actionable insights, and support business teams with embedding analysis into internal processes. Provide support for Environmental & Social framework updates and Environmental Strategy initiatives, as required. Partner with the broader Environmental Strategy team (Net Zero and Climate Resilience) on adjacencies, including data projects, and outlining FY27 priorities. Prepare concise briefings and recommendations for Executive Leadership teams and other governance forums. Contribute to external disclosures. Contribute to the development of the Group's capabilities on nature, by sharing knowledge and expertise on key nature-related topics, including those covered by the nature risk and opportunities assessment. Monitor external nature‑related developments and engaging, as appropriate, in external nature-related partnerships and initiatives. Support knowledge transfer and continuity planning for the returning incumbent. Your skills and experience: Strong background in sustainability or environmental strategy; nature‑related risk experience preferred. Familiarity with global and national nature-related frameworks (primarily TNFD), policies and initiatives. Experience in the assessment and management of nature-related issues and understanding of relevant data, metrics and interconnections between nature and climate and social issues. Strong project management skills and experience delivering an ambitious program with cross-functional stakeholders. Ability to work autonomously and to use information and apply logic and prioritisation to manage uncertainty and formulate recommendations and solutions that lead to effective outcomes. Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including executive‑level reporting. Analytical capability to interpret complex data and translate into actionable insights. Familiarity with banking processes and incentive structures.
