We’re on the hunt for an experienced, proactive, creative and organised Community Development Officer to join our busy and growing Mingle team. We are seeking a person with a professional, proactive and organised approach who can draw on and build relationships with stakeholders and suppliers and is able to work in a fast-paced environment. The Community Development Officer will: Assist in the planning and delivery of the Mingle Community Development Program. Work with an understanding of Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) principles to implement community initiatives and projects that help build strong communities. Establish and maintain productive relationships and partnerships with other government agencies, community groups, key stakeholders and suppliers. Coordinate innovative content, production and distribution of a range of communication materials for different audiences to support the Suburban Land Agency’s community development program. This may include newsletters, social media, web content, event campaigns and on-site materials. Undertake administration tasks such as (but not limited to) manage and track communications into mailboxes and social media, manage stock levels, production materials and event kit preparation. Organise and attend consultation and community development activities – both face-to-face and online. This may include presenting in public forums to small community groups as part of a team. Assist in community initiatives and event design and delivery including stakeholder relationships, site inspections, site presentation, venue management, catering, transport, rosters, supplier management and evaluation. Ability to develop and execute communication materials. This includes marketing materials, web content, social media content, graphics and basic design work, photography and videography input. Draft briefs, letters, communications, reports, procedures and guidelines. Procure external suppliers, consultants and contractors to assist in the delivery of key initiatives and activities Mentor and provide guidance to staff within the team to ensure consistency and compliance. Analyse, identify and review risks and develop associated risk management plans and operational plans related to engagement and event activities. Eligibility/Other Requirements: The following are highly desirable attributes: Qualifications in community development, events, engagement, communications or significant experience in a similar role. Minimum of two years of community development / engagement experience. The ability to work flexibly with some out of hours work required. Valid Driver’s Licence. A current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) Act 2011 (or a willingness to obtain if successful) .
