Its purpose is to ensure pharmacies remain viable, sustainable, and central to primary healthcare delivery. Through advocacy, professional development, and business support, the organisation helps pharmacies meet changing patient and regulatory needs while promoting excellence in service, safety, and innovation. About the Role As the Member and Business Support Officer , you’ll play a vital role in supporting community pharmacies and pharmacy owners across the Northern Territory. Reporting to the Branch Director, you’ll be the first point of contact for members—offering practical guidance on business operations, PBS processes, and legislative compliance. This position is varied and relationship-driven. You’ll visit pharmacies, assist with workplace relations and business optimisation, promote quality programs, and coordinate events and campaigns that strengthen member engagement. Key Responsibilities Act as the main contact for members and prospective members, delivering high-quality support. Conduct regular pharmacy visits to provide business and compliance advice. Advise members on PBS requirements , NT Medicines and Poisons Act , and scope of practice changes such as vaccination services. Support members in implementing and maintaining QCPP standards and quality improvement frameworks. Respond to workplace relations and operational enquiries, referring members to appropriate national resources. Promote professional development programs, training, and industry events. Maintain accurate member records in the CRM (GEMM) and prepare regular reports. Collaborate with the marketing team to create and share engaging branch communications. Provide administrative and project support to the Branch Director. About You You have a solid understanding of community pharmacy operations and the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS) , with a genuine interest in supporting the profession. You’re organised, proactive, and confident communicating with pharmacy owners and staff. You’ll also bring: At least one year’s experience working in a community pharmacy . Strong understanding of PBS and pharmacy regulatory requirements . Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with CRM systems (Dynamics 365 an advantage). A current driver’s licence and reliable vehicle for member visits. Experience within a membership-based organisation , customer service , or healthcare association will be highly regarded.
