About us: Specialist Medical Services are offered via Outpatients at six facilities within the Hospital and Health Service – Rockhampton, Gladstone, Emerald, Capricorn Coast, Biloela and Woorabinda. Specialties provided include General Medicine, Cardiology, Renal Medicine, Palliative Care, Psychiatry, Rehabilitation, Geriatric Medicine, Paediatrics, General Surgery, Orthopaedics, Urology, Earn Nose and Throat, Obstetrics and Gynaecology, Cancer care services and Anaesthetics. There are also a range of clinical services provided on a visiting basis from tertiary hospitals in Queensland. About the role: Provide regular and short notice reporting and business analysis function to Specialist Outpatients and hospital management in accordance with statewide and local reporting requirements. Coordinate and implement redesign initiatives in a clinical environment using project management methodologies to drive improvements in access, flow and service efficiency. Foster an organisational culture that supports an unwavering focus on clinical safety, quality, risk and continuous improvement. Develop and implement procedures and systems for the provision of ongoing analysis of health performance related information to assist Central Queensland Hospital and Health Service Outpatient Departments in planning, management, monitoring and evaluation of health services. Develop, implement and support education training packages in line with business requirements, responsibilities and goals as per the Specialist Outpatient Implementation Standard. Proficiency in the application of computerised information systems and applications along with complex data collection and reporting software to produce high level statistical reports. About you: While not mandatory a relevant qualification and knowledge and understanding of business improvement methodologies will be highly regarded. High-level problem-solving skills, including the ability to proactively analyse situations and identify and successfully implement practical and innovative strategic and operational solutions within a complex health systems environment. Demonstrated ability to prepare timely and relevant written briefs/reports, presentations and information papers for stakeholders, including senior management on outpatient issues. Demonstrated ability at an advanced level to rapidly acquire expertise in ambulatory care which is applied to understand the patient, clinician and organisational experience for the service.
