As Operational Excellence (Line 1 Risk) Manager, you will lead the uplift of risk and control practices within our Sales Finance business. Sitting in the first line, you’ll work across product, pricing, marketing, and partner management to ensure risks are proactively identified , processes are efficient and compliant, and control environments are embedded in how we work. You will champion operational improvement while keeping customer, partner, and regulatory outcomes front and centre In this role, you’ll : Lead the design and implementation of Line 1 controls across core operational processes (e.g. pricing execution, campaign approvals, partner onboarding) . Identify and address control gaps, process inefficiencies, or emerging operational risks through continuous improvement initiatives. Collaborate with the end-to-end value chain to ensure new initiatives are launched with fit-for-purpose risk frameworks and documented controls. Act as a key point of contact with Line 2 Risk, Compliance, and Audit, ensuring evidence and traceability of control activities. Drive process optimisation through automation, documentation, and clearer roles/responsibilities. Monitor risk metrics and performance indicators, producing regular reporting and deep dives as needed. Support readiness for internal and external reviews, and drive proactive remediation of findings About You: 5 years of experience in operational risk, controls, or operations management roles in financial services or fintech. Able to take a pragmatic and commercially minded view of risk, ensuring a well-functioning risk controlled operation that delivers against commercial priorities Strong working knowledge of Line 1 vs Line 2 responsibilities and risk frameworks (e.g. Risk and Control Self Assessments (RCSA), control testing, remediation planning and execution). Hands-on experience improving or redesigning operational processes in a regulated environment. You are naturally fluent in using AI and digital tools to streamline documentation, accelerate control testing, enhance operational process design, and generate actionable insights for monitoring and reporting Analytical and detail-oriented, with a pragmatic approach to embedding controls into day-to-day workflows. Able to collaborate across the end-to-end sales finance value chain including enablement teams influence without authority and drive collective outcomes.
