Better Regulation Victoria (BRV) works with the Victorian Government and community to support the analysis, design and implementation of best-practice regulation. BRV supports the Commissioner for Better Regulation to: Assess the adequacy of Regulatory Impact Statements (RISs) and Legislative Impact Assessments (LIAs) Assist with the design, application and administration of regulation Identify opportunities to reduce red tape and develop regulatory reform initiatives Advise on and investigate complaints about competitive neutrality Undertake research on specific regulatory issues, at the request of the Treasurer, Assistant Treasurer or Secretary, DTF. Economic Growth Victoria (EGV) supports the Commissioner for Economic Growth (who is also the Commissioner for Better Regulation) to undertake a range of work to advance the Government's inclusive economic growth agenda, including undertaking research and inquiries commissioned by the Government, engaging with stakeholders, and preparing advice: to address immediate economic issues on major issues affecting the performance of the Victorian economy on the effectiveness of government programs; and on regulatory matters. BRV and EGV work in a collegiate environment to support the work of the Commissioner for Economic Growth and Better Regulation Victoria. About the role This senior level position plays a pivotal role in supporting the work of the Commissioner for Economic Growth Victoria and Better Regulation Victoria. In addition to executive support, the role provides an opportunity to lead the coordination of stakeholder engagement activities and advise the Commissioner on emerging issues. Key accountabilities Provide high-level confidential support to the Commissioner including diary and meeting management, email, and travel management. Prepare, proof read and process written advice, briefs and in an accurate and timely manner. Implement and manage processes, including initiating change when required by providing direction and leadership across EGV and BRV, for example using systems (including managing the end-to-end HR on-boarding and off-boarding processes for new and departing staff). Manage the activities of the Office of the Commissioner to provide quality and effective support services including preparation of meeting papers. Organise Divisional meetings and other functions as scheduled by the Commissioner. Contribute to the planning, coordination and implementation of key projects and initiatives led by the Commissioner Oversee, and undertake, the management of office resources and related governance, in line with approved financial delegations. Demonstrate leadership to the work group by exercising professionalism and contributing to a positive work environment. Provide leadership through mentoring and support to other EAs across DTF Develop and maintain professional working relationships with key stakeholders in Ministerial Offices, line agencies and key external clients. Lead the development and implementation of various EGBRV projects and initiatives and coordinate as requested. Experience and qualifications Proven senior experience providing high level executive support and/or relevant tertiary qualifications.
