About this opportunity Supporting the Production Co-Ordinator – Power Plastics, Kings Park, the Supervisor safely leads and manages the production team and ensures that the site’s processes are compliant with PACT Group best practice procedures. The Supervisor is responsible for overall supervision and direction of production team in the designated area. The responsibility includes the safe and efficient production of packaging, the safe and efficient running of plant and equipment and welfare for all employees on the shift. Your key responsibilities will be to: Responsibility to follow the procedures that he or she has been trained against as recorded in their training record. Responsibility to ensure all staff adopt safe working practices and follow company safety instructions. Ensure that good housekeeping practices are always maintained and adhered to. Control of material in and out of facility including completion of appropriate paperwork. Responsible for allocation of and supervision of staff in your area to ensure production is meeting targets. Responsible to ensure schedules are adhered to or manage with planning concerns that prevent adherence to plan. Responsible for controlling leave rostering approval process. Responsible for approving Kronos and ensuring that clock cards are accurate and completed in a timely manner. Supervise and participate in machine adjustments including line change over when necessary. Ensure routine generated machine checks, quality checks, guard checks, TPM are completed. Ensure that all breakdowns and down time are recorded accurately so to drive the Reliability improvements. Ensure the accuracy and completion of: Quality Control Reports, Certifications, Non-Conformance, Safety/Hazard reporting and actions are followed up and closed out in a timely manner for your area. Ensure all product specifications are met and adhered to. Lead and participate in daily tier communication meetings with planning and manufacturing teams. Participate in RCCA investigations as required. Follow Reliability escalation procedure and raise maintenance work requests in MEX system, or site based CMMS. Escalate HR issues to your immediate line manager. Your skills and experience To be successful in this role, you’ll have: 5 years’ experience in a Plastic industrial environment. Knowledge of the process for the manufacture of packaging including an understanding of the equipment is preferred Proven people leadership and change management experience with a collaborative and enabling approach. Strong mechanical aptitude. Communication and Interpersonal Skills Problem solving skills. Time Management Skills.
