About this role: We are seeking a collaborative, digitally savvy, systems-strong, detail-oriented, and results-focused Reliability Engineer to drive reliability improvement initiatives across our asset base. This is a role where you will make a tangible contribution to the community, engage daily with senior leaders, peers, and colleagues, and work across both technical and operational areas to deliver real outcomes. This role is accountable for implementing reliability improvements that support Icon Water’s asset management, reliability, and maintenance functions-directly contributing to our strategic focus areas. You will: Deliver reliability improvement initiatives and embed change through effective engagement and communication. Drive integration and use of RCM/WAM systems (e.g. OnePM–WAM and OnePM Connect) to enable accelerated maintenance programme speed of change. Implement and apply asset health and RCM tools to optimise maintenance strategies, identify critical spares, improve program effectiveness, and balance cost, risk, reliability, and performance. Coordinate operational readiness and asset health activities (e.g. Top 10 Focus Asset Class) to optimise asset lifecycle value. Leverage systems such as OnePM, WAM, and Asset Health tools to identify end-of-life triggers, resolve reliability issues, and ensure consistent works management. Drive asset health data quality improvements through updating assessment outcomes in CMMS and RCM systems. What We’re Looking For: The Reliability Engineer role is part of the Infrastructure Reliability & Performance Branch within the Infrastructure Services Group. The Branch is committed to developing and implementing leading asset management approaches to maximise asset reliability and performance in the challenging environment of balancing aging assets and customer requirements. Who We’re Looking For: We’re seeking a dedicated individual, enthusiastic to implement leading reliability practices at Icon Water. To be successful for this role, you will need: Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related discipline (Mechanical or Civil preferred). Experience in an industrial, manufacturing, or utility service delivery environment (desirable). Strong systems and digital capability, including demonstrated skills in SQL (or similar), Power BI, programming, and mobility solutions; exposure to CMMS implementation or other enterprise asset management systems (essential) Demonstrated experience in preventative and predictive maintenance strategies, reliability techniques, tools, and systems (e.g. RCM, Weibull, RCA, FMECA, Asset Health, Reliability Block Diagrams) with the ability to develop and implement industry best practices. Proven experience in assessing asset health, performance, and condition of equipment common to utilities or similar environments. Knowledge and/or experience in condition monitoring techniques such as vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, and alignment. Experience working with water supply and wastewater treatment assets (desirable). Working knowledge of ISO 55001 requirements. Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems, influence and lead change, and work collaboratively across functions within a commercial environment. Strong communication and negotiation skills, with the ability to influence peers and workgroups in complex environments. Demonstrated experience in applying cost-effective risk management and predictive techniques to critically analyse solution options. Commitment to continuous improvement, including preparation of management system documentation. Familiarity with CMMS (Oracle will be highly regarded), reliability engineering software, and integrity assurance systems.
