What We’re Looking For: This role has primary responsibility for co-ordinating Icon Water’s Integrated Water Management Program (IWMP), which will enable key strategic decisions to be made on the future of Canberra’s water and wastewater services, and ensure future investment decisions consider the whole water cycle. This role requires strong program management, interpersonal and communication skills. Value will be added by delivering an outcomes-focussed approach for the IWMP and obtaining buy-in from internal and external stakeholders. About this role: Reporting to the Team Leader Strategy and Growth Planning, the IWMP Coordinator has primary responsibility for coordinating delivery of the IWMP, which is one of Icon Water’s strategic priories. This includes: Development, coordination of oversight of IWMP budget and resourcing plans. Ensure quality and consistency across the IWMP, including provision of technical input and review of technical and non-technical reports as required. Support planning, procurement and delivery of the IWMP water and wastewater works streams (led by Senior/Strategy Planning Leads) to ensure system integration, alignment with approved IWMP workplans and quality requirements are met. Establish and implement IWMP governance, including program decision making frameworks. Develop, maintain and monitor program management approach (incl. program plans, schedules, document management, risk register, strategic priority budget, resourcing and reporting), including co-ordination of monitoring and reporting to the internal and external governance committees, the Icon Water Board and Shareholders. Coordinate, support and/or develop papers on strategic matters for consideration by the relevant governance Committees and Board. Support the coordination, development and implementation of stakeholder communication and engagement plans relevant to the IWMP. Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with personnel within ACT Government departments and regulators to enable efficient management of issues in often complex work environments with multiple stakeholders, competing interests and requirements. Provide timely and accurate information to the Team Leader Strategy and Growth Planning, including on risks and issues relevant to delivery of IWMP and escalate issues, which have potential to impact on delivery of the program. Support the Team Leader Strategy and Growth Planning and Senior/Strategy Planning Leads to deliver a coordinated and cohesive IWMP that achieves the program ambition. Keep abreast of current water industry practices, technologies and regulatory environments relating to integrated water management to maintain currency of industry knowledge for incorporation into Icon Water strategic decisions and initiatives. Who we are looking for: We’re seeking a dedicated individual who has Tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline such as project/program management, engineering, science, policy, environment or equivalent and e xtensive experience in managing programs. You will require the ability to manage your own workload in a mature way and balance priorities and also require: A working knowledge of strategic planning for the water industry or similar, is desirable. Demonstrated ability to recognise and manage diverse perspectives and priorities among stakeholders and the ability to influence and engage effectively across an organisation, including leadership teams. Demonstrated collaboration skills to work effectively across the organisational structure to deliver required outcomes. Significant experience presenting complicated program and strategic information in a succinct and clear manner to all levels of management. Experience in engaging and influencing a diverse set of external stakeholders in a complex policy environment, including government policy makers and regulators. A working knowledge of regulatory and legislative requirements in a water utility. Knowledge of Water Resources Act 2007, Environmental Protection Act 1997 and relevant government policies are desirable.
