We have an exciting opportunity to join our Safety team, supporting in the safety, health management and sustainability space across our Central Queensland sites. You will be supporting the implementation and ongoing maintenance of Cement Australia’s integrated safety, health, environment and quality management system and the achievement of our safety and sustainability targets. Your Opportunity At a high level, some of the work you could expect to do includes: Supporting the Safety Manager CQ and the Sustainability Specialist, as well as the broader Gladstone team in all aspects of the on-going application of our integrated safety, health, environment and quality management system (SHEQMS) at the Fishermans Landing, East End Mine and Iveragh mine sites Work site inspections and auditing on SHE related matters including work permits, isolations and risk assessments Incident system management Participation in safety, health and environmental related meetings (e.g. OHS Committee and pre-start meetings) Act as a Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator (RRTWC) for work and non-work-related injury Liaise with appropriate medical practitioners, employees, and management to formulate return to work and suitable duties plans As nominated Return to Work Coordinator, support and provide oversight on all workers compensation claims Assist in organization and delivery of safety, health and environmental related training packages (for example permit to work, equipment isolation, hazard and risk management and procedure update briefs) Assess contractor SHE management plans against the Cement Australia contractor management procedure requirements (insurances, competencies and SHE performance). Management of the site’s Approved Contractor Register (ACR) and monitoring of compliance Together with the Safety Manager and Sustainability Specialist provide safety, health and environmental support to the site team and contractors during plant maintenance shutdowns What You’ll Bring Diploma in Safety, Health or Environment Minimum 2 years' experience in a role that required the application and use of SHE management systems Cert IV in Training & Assessment – advantageous Previous experience in mining/heavy industry with shutdown exposure - advantageous Previous contractor management experience Strong verbal, influencing and negotiating skills Sound understanding and interpretation of safety legislative requirements Rehabilitation and suitable duties exposure Rehabilitation and Return to Work Coordinator qualification – or willingness to obtain Why J oin Cement Australia?
