About the role An exciting role exists for a passionate & experienced Senior Speech Pathologist to use their expertise in LifeWorks at Royal Rehab Ryde. LifeWorks is an innovative, multidisciplinary service, providing high-quality, evidence-based therapy services & support onsite and in the community. The Ryde campus has state-of-the-art advanced technology and a highly skilled and dedicated team. Key responsibilities include: Providing high quality speech pathology within a client-focused & goal-centred framework to adults in the community & centre-based programs. Working within a dynamic multidisciplinary team, supported by allied health assistants. Well-supported with access to supervision, professional development & opportunities for collaboration with the broader speech pathology team. Clinical supervision & support of LifeWorks Level 1 /2 speech pathologist. Opportunities to develop advanced technology to improve clients’ quality of life including augmentative alternative communication (AAC) with a large suite of applications, eye gaze technology and assessment & biofeedback of swallowing using FEES & sEMG. About you We seek a self-motivated and friendly individual with: Essential Criteria: A practising member of Speech Pathology Australia. Minimum 3 years recent experience in providing speech pathology services in a neurorehabilitation and/or disability setting. Experience working in a multi-disciplinary team. Experience in assessment & prescription of assistive technology for communication, including AAC devices. Sound time management skills and ability to work well independently. Demonstrated competence in high level interpersonal communication, negotiation, conflict resolution. Demonstrated ability to implement evidenced based practice and outcome measurement and commitment to participation in supervision and professional development. Experience working with NDIS funded clients & icare participants and/or knowledge of systems involved. Current C unrestricted driver’s licence and good driving record. Desirable Criteria: Interest in Flexible Endoscopic Evaluation of Swallowing (FEES). SPEAK OUT! provider.
