About this role: This role has primary responsibility for developing and deploying a maintenance programme to deliver safe and reliable water treatment services. The asset portfolio includes Stromlo and Googong Water Treatment Plants and associated equipment supplying quality drinking water to Canberra. Icon Water is regulated under the ACT government both technically and financially, the role includes demonstrating prudency in the approach to programme development. This includes application of leading reliability practices such as reliability centred maintenance, asset functional criticality, defect elimination, data-based decision making and RAM analysis. The role also involves adopting innovative new reliability practices such as “predictive analytics to forecast asset risk and investment”, a leading approach across the Australian Water Utilities. The Maintenance programme is executed by Icon Water trade-based maintenance crews and a subset of contractors in which strong communications skills are required to engage and seek feedback to drive continuous improvement of the maintenance programme. The role includes the monitoring and reporting of programme compliance against annual Asset Management Plan (AMP) targets. What We’re Looking For: The Programme Engineer – WTP role is part of the Infrastructure Reliability & Performance Branch within the Infrastructure Services Group. The Branch is committed to developing and implementing leading asset management approaches to maximise asset reliability and performance in the challenging environment of balancing aging assets and customer requirements. Who we are looking for: We’re seeking a dedicated individual, enthusiastic to implement leading reliability practices at Icon Water. They should have Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a related discipline and experience in an industrial, manufacturing or utility service delivery environment. Water Utility/Water Treatment Plant experience also desirable. You will also need: The ability to live the Icon Water leadership principles to build trust, demonstrate integrity and lead by example to create a positive culture. A balance of trade and engineering experience providing a trades perspective of the requirements from a maintenance programme, plus strong analytical skills to enabling science/ engineering-based decision making. Strong systems and digital capability, including demonstrated experience with CMMS or other enterprise asset management systems such as OnePM and OnePM Connect as an advanced user; exposure to mobility solutions; desirable skills include Power BI programming and SQL (or similar). Demonstrated experience in preventative and predictive maintenance strategies, reliability techniques, tools, and systems (e.g. RCM, Weibull, RCA, FMECA, Asset Health, Reliability Block Diagrams and defect elimination) with the ability to develop and implement industry leading practices. Proven experience in assessing asset health, performance, and condition of equipment common to utilities or similar environments. Knowledge and/or experience in condition monitoring techniques such as vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, and alignment. Working knowledge of ISO 55001 requirements.
