With a booming, culturally rich and diverse community, and less than an hourâs drive from the CBD (still within the bounds of Myki and ride-sharing), Melbourneâs North is fast becoming the place to be.   Northern Health are seeking applications from motivated and suitably experienced Oncology Nurse Pratitioner endorsed/candidate, to join the Medicine and Cancer Services team.   Northern Health is the major provider of acute, maternity, sub-acute, mental health, specialist, community and home-based services in Melbourneâs rapidly growing outer north.  Services are provided through our five main campuses: Northern Hospital Epping, Broadmeadows Hospital, Bundoora Centre, Craigieburn Centre, and Kilmore District Hospital. In addition, Mental Health Services are provided at Epping, Broadmeadows, Jacana, Preston, Mill Park and Coburg.   About the Role:  The Nurse Practitioner has an advanced role that includes health assessment and management and may include, but is not limited to, the direct referral of patients to other health care professionals, prescribing medications and ordering diagnostic investigations.  The Oncology NP  is a member of the Medical Oncology Team and their role is designed to support, complement and evolve with the service demands facing the department. The scope of practice will be defined by the Head of Medical Oncology and the development of an area of special expertise will be encouraged.  Part Time - 64 Hours/Fortnight Permanent position Reports to: Clinically - Medical Oncology Head of Unit & professionally â Nurse Unit Manager, Oncology and Medical Day Unit and Chief Nursing and Midwifery Officer   To be successful in this role you will have:   Experience and good working and practice knowledge of various oncological diseases and its management Proven ability to work flexibly and effectively both independently and in a team-based environment.
