About the Role: The National Manager Commercial Claims Technical & Operations is accountable for driving exceptional claim outcomes through the delivery of claims and commercial product technical support and Commercial Claims operations. This position plays a fundamental role in working with Portfolio and Underwriting in the development and execution of the overall Commercial insurance product strategy providing key qualitative and quantitative insights on product response at claim time. This role owns the delivery against regulatory requirements and best practice customer outcomes as well as capability uplift through technical support and development along with oversight of the Commercial QA framework, Risk and Compliance obligations. What You’ll Do: Build a culture of continuous technical improvement and operational excellence throughout the Commercial Claims functions, promoting opportunities for change that generate efficiencies, drive productivity and improve quality Contribute to the development of the strategic and operational goals and budget plans for the Commercial Claims portfolio specifically in building technical capabilities through all client facing claims roles Drive the financial success of the Commercial Claims portfolio through the management of the Complex Claims processes including reserving practices, QA reviews, structured mentoring programs and development planning Work closely with Commercial Underwriting and Portfolio teams in the design and distribution of commercial products, acting as the Lead for Commercial claims in providing structured and regular feedback on product performance from a claims perspective Ensure alignment of Underwriting and Portfolio stakeholders and influence outcomes resulting in the cost-effective management of claims to drive improve profitability Key stakeholder for managing regulatory, risk and compliance obligations for Commercial claims. What You’ll Bring: Minimum 10 years commercial work experience within insurance or financial services Minimum 7 years experience leading high performing teams Demonstrated management experience within insurance claims or large-scale operational teams Strong understanding of commercial insurance claims practice, products, underwriting and product design Strong business acumen with strong knowledge of key business drivers that enable accurate budgeting, forecasting and business planning Advanced communication and stakeholder management skills with strong ability to convey, receive, and accurately interpret information.
