About the Role As the Tuckshop Convenor, you will play a key role in the daily operation of our school tuckshop, providing nutritious and affordable food options to students and staff. Reporting to the Parents and Citizens Association, you'll oversee all aspects of tuckshop management, including staff and volunteer coordination, stock control, financial record-keeping, and compliance with food safety and Workplace Health and Safety standards. This is a hands-on role that requires strong leadership, organisational skills, and a commitment to delivering friendly and efficient service. You'll also have the opportunity to engage with the school community and promote the tuckshop as a valued service. Key Responsibilities: Manage the daily operations of the tuckshop, including food preparation and counter service. Supervise and support staff and volunteers, including rostering and training. Maintain stock levels, place orders, and conduct regular stocktakes. Ensure compliance with hygiene, food safety, and Workplace Health and Safety standards. Oversee cash handling, operate point-of-sale systems, and balance funds daily. Maintain accurate records of financial transactions and tuckshop operations. Foster community engagement to promote the tuckshop service. About You To succeed in this role, you will bring: Experience in food preparation, retail, or hospitality management (school tuckshop experience is a bonus). Strong leadership and teamwork skills to motivate and coordinate volunteers. Excellent organisational and communication abilities. Knowledge of budgeting, stock control, and cash handling procedures.
