Description Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia’s future. Downer Professional Services is comprised of two business units, our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice and Team Downer, a major service partner to Defence. Together, we are a multi-disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for our clients in Defence and National Security. We currently have an opportunity for a Business Support Officer in Canberra to work on Land projects . What You’ll Do This role offers a broad scope, with key role responsibilities including: Monitoring and coordination of House of Governance (HoG) taskings; Support maintenance of information platforms; including MS Teams, Intranet Page, SharePoint and HoG; Support development of the monthly SPO Newsletter and other SPO communications; Support financial administration activities as required; and Support audit activities, reporting and data management as required. What You’ll Bring Business Administration Experience : Proven capability in supporting finance, procurement, data management, and project coordination tasks. Strong Communication Skills : Excellent written and verbal communication to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders. Information Platform Proficiency : Experience using MS Teams, SharePoint, intranet systems, and other digital platforms for content and task coordination. Governance & Reporting Support : Ability to manage House of Governance (HoG) taskings and contribute to audit, reporting, and newsletter development. Defence Environment Familiarity : Prior experience working within the Defence Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG) is highly desirable. Due to the nature of the work, you are required to currently hold and maintain a minimum Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance as required by the Commonwealth. In some instances, compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) requirements may also be an inherent requirement.
