Overview Director - Debt Capital Markets, Australia & New Zealand role at Societe Generale. Responsibilities Client management: Key point of contact and responsibility for DCM clients across Australia and New Zealand, covering a broad range of products. Determining strategy for the clients and collaborating with internal stakeholders to execute initiatives for both new and existing clients. Client advisory: providing best-in-class advisory to the client base Transaction origination: playing a key part (along with the Head of) in originating and pitching, as well as being actively responsible for client discussions, pitches and structuring. Working with the team to support overall origination initiatives through research, market intelligence, production of marketing materials and to the follow up of client work streams Transaction execution: taking a lead in the execution of new transactions. Liaising with the various teams involved in the transaction execution (bond syndicate, sales, legal, middle office, etc.) Qualifications, experience & knowledge required University degree in a relevant discipline (business, commerce, law, engineering/science) At least 7-10 years DCM experience in origination, with experience in Australian capital markets Experience of originating and executing offshore bonds for Australian Corporate / FI borrowers, primarily in EUR and USD Product knowledge: EUR & GBP bonds (Global and Regs), USD bonds (SEC-registered, 144A, Reg S and Reg D), Private Placements (all currencies) Knowledge of, and familiarity with green/social bonds, liability management, corporate hybrids, and financial institution asset classes from Covered Bonds to Capital Knowledge of ratings methodologies, bank regulatory frameworks and/or balance sheet management would be an advantage Capacity to generate pitch material that is clear, structured, compelling, and comprehensive in addressing clients’ needs Capacity to understand and manage risks (conduct, reputational, financial, etc.) for the business line and the organization and act responsibly in line with SG Group Values, Code of Conduct, and other applicable rules & regulations Behavioral Competencies Entrepreneurial mindset as an originator who has high levels of motivation to follow the entire deal lifecycle from origination to execution Ability to build and maintain trusted professional relationships Consistency and rigor in following up on clients' needs with a focus on the team's priorities Display a sense of ownership in the business and pride in the quality and accuracy of work presented internally and, in the transactions, executed for clients Experience of working (including remotely) with people with diverse, international backgrounds Ability to work in a small team environment and autonomously Ability to manage self and juniors in prioritizing tasks and managing competing deadlines Ability to deliver coherent messages to team members and other stakeholders Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DE&I) Our mission: Recruit, develop, advance, and retain a diverse workforce that is united in our efforts to enhance our competitive position and deliver innovative solutions to our clients.
