About the team: The Enterprise Customer & Operations portfolio’s purpose is to enable ASX to run better. This role supports the COO in the strategic alignment and health of the portfolio, enabling the portfolio to run in an efficient and effective manner. The Business Strategy and Planning team is the key team responsible for the management of the Enterprise Customer and Operations (EC&O) Portfolio. Working directly with the Chief Operating Officer, our primary purpose is the strategic alignment and health of the portfolio. We collaborate with senior leaders within the portfolio daily, as well as working with key stakeholders across the organisation in Finance, People and Culture and Lines of Business (LoB’s). What you will be doing: How we do things at ASX is just as important as what we do. Providing high-level strategic support. Advice and relationship management for the COO, ensuring they are well briefed on risks and issues Working with a high level of autonomy to progress strategic and operational initiatives for EC&O, resolve issues and deliver quality outcomes. Lead the annual business strategic planning activities for EC&O in collaboration with portfolio senior BU leaders Work effectively with other business areas to align and deliver business outcomes. Fostering, engagement and managing relationships with key stakeholders to resolve complex or sensitive issues. Overseeing, reviewing, revising, and reporting on the functions, activities and efficacy of EC&O to ensure continuous improvement. Oversee the risk management approach for EC&O ensuring risks are identified, managed effectively and reported appropriately Serve as a subject-matter expert about EC&O, handling inquiries, developing action plans, and assisting with the preparation and dissemination of communications Fostering collaboration among teams to drive initiatives that require the involvement of multiple functions, ensuring seamless coordination Evaluating and escalating efficiently, to sensitive and /or contentious operational issues to ensure that financial, reputational, and business risks are minimised Working with People & Culture and Portfolio people leaders to assist with resourcing demand aligning to financials and collaborate to address and resolve all employee concerns. Develop and build on relationships with all employees for increased efficiency and responsiveness of existing operations, and help define new operational strategies by working with COO and other leaders on special projects Work closely with the Finance Business Partner and COO to track and report financial and business performance measures, keeping within budget. Work with BU Risk Management Partner to align plans to risk management framework and risk appetite. Communicate effectively to the portfolio by clarifying shared goals, tracking progress towards objectives, and celebrating achieved outcomes. What you will bring: Must have Proven experience providing high-level strategic support, advice, and relationship management to senior leaders Demonstrated ability to oversee, review, and report on business functions or portfolios, ensuring continuous improvement and operational efficiency Strong relationship-building skills with a track record of managing complex or sensitive issues across diverse senior stakeholder groups Risk Management Expertise: Ability to oversee risk management approaches, ensuring identification, mitigation, and appropriate reporting of risks Demonstrated success in fostering collaboration among teams, especially in cross-functional environments Proven ability to work with finance teams to track and report on financial and business performance, including budget management Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to clarify outcomes, communicate progress, and celebrate achievements Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy to progress strategic and operational initiatives, resolve issues, and deliver quality outcomes. Experience of people management and able to address resourcing and employee relations issues. Nice to have Project Management Skills Experience in highly regulated environments Skills in data analysis, reporting, or using business intelligence tools to inform strategic decisions Experience with Risk Management Frameworks, familiar with established risk management and risk appetite alignment.
