Located near Central Station Opportunity to lead impactful programs in a cutting-edge field, helping shape the future of quantum education and outreach in Australia Base Salary $146,197 - $154,260 (HEO9) 17% superannuation About the opportunity The Sydney Quantum Academy (SQA) is seeking a dynamic Education and Outreach Manager to lead the design and delivery of innovative programs that support the development of Australia’s quantum workforce. This is a unique opportunity to shape and grow a portfolio of education and outreach initiatives—including scholarships, training programs, summer schools, hackathons, and science engagement events—that align with SQA’s strategic goals. In this role, you will work closely with the General Manager, the academic community and external partners to deliver high-impact programs that engage students, educators, and the broader community. You’ll manage a small team, oversee program logistics and budgets, and contribute to strategic planning and reporting. This is a chance to make a meaningful contribution to a rapidly evolving field and help build the future of quantum science and technology in Australia. Your key responsibilities will be to: work closely with the General Manager, SQA academic community, and external partners develop and manage SQA’s education programs including scholarships and education initiatives lead the design and delivery of outreach activities such as open days, summer camps, and careers fairs manage program logistics, budgets, and reporting, including data collection and analysis collaborate with marketing and communications to promote programs contribute to strategic planning and partnership development lead and support a team of two Education Support Officers. As such, we see the importance of recruiting talent aligned to these values and are looking for an Education and Outreach Manager who has: tertiary qualifications in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of training and experience that demonstrates capability in education program delivery and stakeholder engagement. substantial experience working in the higher education or tertiary sector, or within a complex, multi-faceted organisation, with a strong understanding of academic environments. demonstrated success in managing education and outreach programs, including scholarship administration, event coordination, and strategic planning across multiple workstreams. proven ability to build and maintain relationships with a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders, including academic staff, service providers, and outreach partners. strong financial and data management skills, including experience with budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and using data to inform program improvements. experience in leading and mentoring staff, with a track record of fostering a collaborative and high-performing team environment An interest or experience working in the field of quantum technology will be well regarded.
